Fellow Knights,

Brother Charles Mestrich is out of the hospital and recovering pretty good, However, his brother, Chris passed away Tuesday evening. Chris was an inactive member of our council. Please keep the entire Msetrich family in your prayers.

The last word that I had on Chris Ketcham was that he was recovering well. I do not know when he will get out of the hospital.

Fellow Knights,

Please pray for some of our brothers that need our prayers especially at this time. Chris Ketcham just went through open heart surgery and has a lengthy recovery ahead of him. Also Brother Charles Mestrich is in the hospital with a number of problems, and his brother Chris Mestrich, who is an inactive member of our council, is in the hospital in Portland and will probably be retruning to a nursing home here in Astoria. Please pray for them and their families.

Please pray for Brother Mark Gagnon who was hospitalized this morning with severe back pain. They are still not sure what the cause

is and are still running tests and just controlling the pain.

Also for those that know her, Donna VanVelzer, a long time perishioner, fell this afternoon and it appears she broke her hip and is also in the hospital. Apparently she was either just getting home or just going out, when a gust of wind caught the storm door and knocked her down. Please pray for her also.

Please keep brother Ed Steve in your prayers.  He has had recent surgery to reattach the retina in his left eye.  But he still has some very serious problems in the left eye.  He is very concerned and definitely in need of our prayers.

I thought I would pass along the information that my Dad, Roger R. Welty, passed away last week, on Tuesday.

He was a great Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa. He was 87, almost 88, part of that generation that grew up during the depression. He enlisted in the Army to fight the Axis powers during WWII and served in combat in France and Germany, in the 8th Armored Infantry Regiment, 3rd Army, under General Patton. He came home from Europe and started his family and his career in Education. He was always advocating people and students to follow the Golden Rule – treat others the way you would like to be treated. He was a Boy Scout Scoutmaster for 30 years and other Scouting volunteer positions before and after that.

May he rest in peace. Please pray for him, and I ask for the prayers of our brother Knights, for him.
